Thermal conductivity of tin - doped bismuth between 50 mK and 7
نویسنده
چکیده
We report on the thermal conductivity of tin-doped bismuth between 50 mK and 27 K. A quantitative interpretation of the data is presented. At the lowest temperatures the electronic thermal conductivity dominates, but above 0.1 K lattice waves carry most of the heat. Below 1 K phononsare scatteredmostly by crystal boundaries, while near the dielectric maximum point defects are important. Their scattering rate is directly proportional to the atomic concentration of the tin impurity.

Thermal Conductivity and Diffusivity. of Climax Stock Quartz Monzonite at High Pressure and Temperature
Measurements of thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity have been made on two samples of Climax Stock quartz monzonite at pressures between 3 and 50 MPa and temperatures between 300 and 523 K. Following those measurements, the apparatus was calibrated with respect to the thermal conductivity measurement using a reference standard of fused silica. Corrected thermal conductivity of the rock ...
متن کاملGeothermal Potential Assesment of Way Ratai Area Based on Thermal Conductivity Measurement to Measure Thermal Properties of Rocks
Thermal conductivity measurements have been used for the Way Ratai geothermal prospect area. The thermal conductivity method is used to evaluate the ability of a rock to deliver heat by conduction. In the area, many surface manifestations are scattered in various regions, where hot springs dominate these various manifestations. The thermal conductivity mapping of rocks is carried out around geo...
متن کاملMechanism of thermal conductivity suppression in doped silicon studied with nonequilibrium molecular dynamics
We examined the underlying mechanisms for thermal conductivity suppression in crystalline silicon by substitutional doping with different elements (X = boron, aluminum, phosphorus, and arsenic). In particular, the relative effects of doping-induced mass disorder, bond disorder, and lattice strain were assessed using nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations. Stillinger–Weber potential param...
متن کاملSn-doped bismuth telluride nanowires with high conductivity.
Bismuth telluride (Bi(2)Te(3)) nanowires with sub-100 nm diameters were synthesized by Au-Sn co-catalyzed chemical vapor deposition. These Bi(2)Te(3) nanowires were single crystals with a hexagonal lattice. The Sn catalyst played a key role in achieving the one-dimensional nanowire structures, while the absence of Sn resulted in other morphologies such as nanoplates, nanooctahedrons and nanosph...
